Piano, Guitar, Cello... AI Can Handle Instruments Too.

Listening to the lullaby AI had made, I got curious.

"Can you play instruments too?"

It wasn't exactly the same as physically playing an instrument,

but AI said it could make music that reflected the feel of different instruments.

"What instruments work well for lullabies?"

Piano.

Guitar.

Cello.

It suggested several.

"Then make a lullaby centered around the piano."

It did.

"Guitar too."

Another one.

"Cello too."

Another one.

This was fun.

It only took a few minutes to make a three-minute track.

So I kept going.

Ten tracks.

Twenty tracks.

I listened to them all in a row.

But something was strange.

I'd changed the instruments and asked for all kinds of variations,

but about half of them sounded like they had similar melodies.

"Hang on. Why do these all sound alike?"

Apparently, making them one after another wasn't the best approach.

I waited a while and started making them again.

Listen.

Discard.

Make another.

I lost track of how many I'd made.

Probably around thirty or forty.

From those, I chose thirteen.

AI did the making.

Choosing was my job.
