I Opened My Second Website Just 17 Days Later.

Seventeen days after opening my first website, I opened my second.

BabySweetDreams.com.

It had far more content and features than the first.

Characters that wouldn't feel out of place in a baby's dreams, lullabies, noises to help with sleep...

There was much more to do.

13 characters.

Illustrations.

Movement.

Lullabies.

Noise.

Customized visual and sound controls.

...

And yet, I built it faster than I'd expected.

How was that possible?

AI probably hadn't suddenly become dramatically smarter in those 17 days.

I had changed a little.

When I built my first site, every time I came across something I didn't know, I wanted to understand it.

What's this?

Why do we do it this way?

How does this work?

The second time, I didn't ask as many questions.

If I didn't need to know something, I just moved on.

I only made the decisions that needed to be made.

I started working with AI on multiple fronts.

On one side, I planned with ChatGPT.

On another, I asked other AIs the same questions.

Codex looked through the files and did the work.

Instead of finishing one task and then moving on to the next,

I started doing several things at the same time.

Long explanations were handed over as TEXT.

Complex data went into a single Excel file.

Repetitive work became programs.

I had AI handle batches of inspections, too.

While building my first website, I followed AI around.

By the second, I was beginning to understand how to use AI.

Of course, there's still far more I don't know.

But now,

it doesn't scare me much anymore.
