AI Talks About Philosophy and Rules.
When I give AI a somewhat complicated task, its approach changes.
I noticed this when I was creating and refining noise sounds.
Instead of making everything at once, it suggested doing it step by step.
So I followed along.
It said we'd do it in five or six stages.
Fine.
But the first of those five or six stages was almost always the same.
“Define the philosophy and the rules.”
Huh?
Philosophy?
For making one sound?
But it happened again with other complicated tasks.
When we were creating multiple variations of images from finished characters while keeping the same overall atmosphere, AI started by setting standards.
Define the philosophy.
Define the rules.
Then turn them, step by step, into something that can actually be made.
I got curious and asked.
“Why does the order and method change when you're doing something complicated?”
AI explained.
The more complicated the problem, the more important it is not to start making things immediately, but to first move up a level and define:
“What exactly is this?”
“First, establish the philosophy and principles.
Set the rules.
Turn them into structures and numbers.
Then, finally, come back down to actual production.”
Hmm.
Even AI seems to stop and think when it faces something complicated.
And at the very top of that thinking were
“Philosophy and Rules.”
