Possible? Then Let's Try It.
I wanted the first screen of the website to have a row of different cards.
"Can you make that?"
"Yes. It's possible."
So we did.
Then I thought it would be nice if people could hear a quick preview just by hovering over a card.
"Can you make the sound play for a moment when I hover over a card?"
"Yes. It's possible."
"Isn't that difficult?"
"It's a common feature on the web."
So we did.
The sound played, but with nothing happening on the screen, it felt a little flat.
"Hang on. Can you make a waveform move with the sound?"
"Yes. It's possible."
Possible again.
"This one sounds a little harder."
Something about analyzing audio data, something about the Web Audio API....
More words I didn't know.
"Okay, never mind all that. You're saying you can do it, right?"
"Yes."
"Then let's try it."
A waveform started moving on the screen.
I didn't really know what made it move.
I didn't know what code it took, either.
Come to think of it, this kept happening while I was building the website.
I had an idea.
I said it out loud.
AI said it was possible.
I said, let's try it.
And then, something that had been in my head just moments before was suddenly alive and moving on the screen.
