Active Users: 1. Someone Finally Came!

I thought once the website was built, that was it.

It wasn't.

GA4 was waiting for me.

Google Analytics 4.

Apparently, it's a service that tells you how many people visited your website, when they came, and where they came from.

The first time I saw the screen, I was amazed.

Wow.

They have this, too?

It showed me, with graphs and numbers, how many people had visited my site, what countries they were from, which pages they looked at, and more.

Amazing.

But after staring at it for a while, I started to feel overwhelmed.

So many menus.

So many numbers.

So many graphs.

It looked like understanding all of this would take a huge amount of time and effort.

By now, I knew exactly what to do.

I took a screenshot.

And showed it to AI.

"What is this? What am I supposed to do?"

AI started explaining.

"This is the GA4 Reports overview. You can see the number of active users, which countries they're visiting from, how they arrived at your site, which pages they viewed..."

Long.

I didn't really understand what it was saying.

So I asked again.

"So basically, it's working properly?"

"Yes. It's connected and working properly."

Good.

That was all I needed.

"Do I have to keep watching this?"

"No. You just launched the site, so there's hardly any data yet. You can check again in a few days."

Got it.

But the next day,

I checked again.

Something looked different.

There was a number.

Active users: 1.

Huh?

Someone came.

Did someone finally visit my website?

I quickly took a screenshot.

And showed it to AI.

"Look at this. Did someone visit?"

AI looked at the screen.

Then it said,

"It's most likely a record of your own visit."

Oh.

It was me.

I'd jumped at my own shadow.
